Class News

Author of the Term - Mairi Hedderwick. We are enjoying reading all about Katie Morag in class and will be basing a lot of our work around this character and her life. This will include learning all about coastal animals and comparing the Isle of Coll to where we live.

Composer of the Term - The Russian composer and pianist Sergei Rachmaninov.

Reminders: Class 4 are super readers and to help us do our best in school we need to read every night at home. Please could you help by hearing your child read aloud and signing their school planner?

Christmas has arrived in Class 4.

Class 4 has been transformed in to a Christmas Grotto. The children have been inspired by this, helping them to get in the mood for their Christmas Nativity.

Here is our wonderful, magical classroom.

This Term in School

Our current theme this half term is 'Toys'

Across the school we are learning about 'Truthfulness'

The children have been reading Christmas stories in class including 'Elf Hunt'. We are looking forward to doing an elf chase in school.

The children have been particularly busy this term rehearsing and delivering their Christmas Play, creating crafts to sell at the Christmas Fayre and designing and making Christmas Tree decorations. All this alongside our usual learning. Well done children, you've worked wonderfully.

Next week, on the 13th December, we're looking forward to a trip to Warrington Museum.

Meet the Teacher

A big thank you to all parents who attended 'Meet the Teacher'. For those of you who couldn't attend, or would just like a recap of the information shared with you, see below.

Mathletics is a great programme to use in school and at home. It is designed to develop and improve all areas of mathematics from arithmetic to problem solving. It will be targeted to your child's particular year group and ability. Children can access this at home using their own log-in and can earn certificates each week. The maths class with the most points in a week also recieves the Mathletics Trophy.
