This Term In school

Our overall theme this half term is London.  We will be looking at London landmarks and comparing them to where we live.

Author of the term: Nicholas Allan

We will be continuing to develop our phonics skills/knowledge across Key Stage 1 using planning and resources that can be found on the 'Phonics Play' website.  Here are some great links you can use to help support your child's development at home:

Recommended Reading for Fun

We are super readers and to help us to do our best in school we need to read every night at home.  Please help by hearing your child read out loud and signing their school planner.  Group reading awards will be given out each Wednesday in our 'Celebration Assembly'.

Spellings will be sent home every Friday to be returned the following Wednesday.

PE Kits: please ensure that your child has both their indoor and outdoor PE kits in school at all times.

School Meals - children make their own choice of main meal and dessert each day.  If you would like to discuss your child's choices before each day, please visit our school meals information on the parent information page.

For a guide to our Half Term Homework Challenges please see the PowerPoint below.

Meet the Teacher

A big thank you to all parents who attended 'Meet the Teacher'.  For those of you who couldn't attend, or would just like a recap of the information shared with you see below.

Mathletics is a great programme to use in school and at home. It is designed to develop and improve all areas of mathematcis from arithmetic to problem solving. It will be targeted to your child's particular year group and ability.  Children can access this at home using their own log-in and can earn certicate each week.  The maths class with the most points in a week also receives the Mathletics Trophy.
