The Daily Mile

You may have noticed a change to our field over the Summer Holidays. We've had a track put in! This great feature will allow every class to take park in the Daily Mile.

The Daily Mile is a fully-inclusive, free and simple initiative which improves the physical and mental health of children. It’s a social activity where the children run or jog, at their own pace, for 15 minutes every day and it improves focus in the classroom.

Visit from Beth Tweddle MBE

We had a special visit at school from Beth Tweddle MBE.  The children were very excited to meet her and enjoyed having a very talented gymnast in our school.  Beth was delighted with the warm welcome she received from the children and staff waiting to greet her as she walked around the building.  Beth spent time with a selected group of children answering questions about her life and gymnastics career.  They enjoyed listening to her answers and showing her some of their own medals and certificates that they had. Beth also met with our School Sports Crew.

Some of our Year 5 children have been trained to become our School Sports Crew.  The children each have a specific role and work together as a team to promote sport around school and set up intra-school competitions.  The Sports Crew even got the opportunity to meet Beth Tweddle MBE when she came into school in April.
