Anti-Bullying Week
Children across the school have created class shields against bullying in aid of Anti-Bullying Week. The message is clear; Chirst Church children are caring individuals who do not accept bullying in their school. Here is their work.
Remembrance - Our Heroic Past Pupils
On the 9th November 2018, children from Christ Church C.E Primary and Oakwood Avenue united at the Padgate Cenotaph for a special service of Remembrance for our fallen heroes.
John Ratcliffe attended Christ Church and fought in the Great War with the South Lancs and the King's Shropshire Infantry. He was killed in France on the 10th of October 1918.
Henry Kenright from Oakwood Avenue was in the Irish Guards and died in April 1945 in Germany.
Chris Bent, a good friend of the school who has worked tirelessly with our History Club, has taken a wreath made by Christ Church CE pupils and laid it at the grave of John Ratcliffe.
Chris Bent.
"..my huge thanks for this afternoon. What a memorable service it was. Your children showed such respect and were a credit to Christ Church. I have an unbelievable amount of respect for your school and count myself as very fortunate to work with you.
Tomorrow will be an incredible moment to lay your wreath in honour of your fallen boy, John Ratcliffe. I will send you film and photographs to share with the children."
Remembrance
The children across the whole school each created their own poppies from plastic bottles to create a beautiful poppy wreath in Remembrance of 100 years since the Great War. The junior children also wrote their own prayers for Remembrance on doves - a symbol of peace and hope.
Beauty and the Beast.
An exciting morning was had by all when M&M Theatrical Productions delivered a wonderful, modern pantomime rendition of Beauty and the Beast. The children were an encouraging and engaged audience and have produced some excellent writing inspired by the show.
